Lichen Card Sample

Lichen Card Sample

I’d like to print the Lichen Oracle as cards that look something like this, and include the unfinished 16-card Sticks and Stones Oracle along with it.  The card border (shown here in shaded gray) would be warm metallic silver.  But I doubt there would be much interest in these except from a few oracle collectors and people who are interested in divination systems.  But I may consider printing a very limited edition (50 copies or so) once the Black Cat Deck is done.  Meanwhile, I’ll revise the Lichen Oracle website to show the oracle in the form of these cards instead of the current glyph table with separate descriptions.  That should make it more accessible and prettier.

The things that are Yin enjoy and need silence and darkness. No need to seek bright sunlight for them.

I’d be very interested in this deck. I am taken by the designs and the depth of the messages received, as one sinks into the wisdom of Nature shared through these sacred forms.

  3. I made some lovely paper beads with photographs that a friend sent me from South Africa of lichen. Years ago I also created a virtual quilt that I called “Lichen” for an online monthly contest, where I used crazy patchwork in soft greens and greys.

I think I would enjoy using these in daily card draws, as the subject keeps coming up in my life.

People like the oddest things, you might be surprised. I have the deck “Elemental Hexagons” which is based on the Periodic Table of the Elements. Science, nature, words, images–all good stuff.

“Lichen, like soft rain” – a bit of a paraphrase of one of Ray Bradbury’s Martian Chronicles.

Your cards, like soft rain in the world. . .
